Does the pool at the Swavesey Windmill interest you?

Find a swim lesson

Swavesey Windmill

The Windmill, Hale Road, Swavesey, Cambridgeshire, CB24 4QP.

*Hale Road is a farm road, so please be mindful of potholes. It's also popular with dog walkers, cyclists and runners, so keep an eye out for them too.

Pool dimensions: 7m x 3.6m

Pool depth: 1.1m to 2.1m

Entry type available: Ladder

Accessibility: No pool hoist, (gravel path and steps to get to the pool)

Pool rules

  1. Arrive between 5 mins before your lesson.
  2. Remove outdoor shoes upon entry to the building. Indoor shoes free of mud can be worn on the poolside or you can use the provided flip flops (sanitising spray available). Buggies are not allowed on the poolside to ensure good hygiene.
  3. To keep our floors and standards of cleanliness pristine, food is strictly prohibited by the pool and in the changing rooms. However, water bottles and spill-proof drinking containers are allowed.
  4. Everyone has to use the onsite shower before their lesson. The pool is small and is sensitive to external factors such as sweat, perfume and body lotion. Furthermore, rinsing beforehand reduces the absorption of chlorine through the skin. So it's a mutually beneficial decision to have a quick rinse.
  5. Swim hats are compulsory for those 2.5 years and older to reduce hair clogging the filtration system.
  6. Swimmers that are not potty trained need to have a swim nappy and appropriate swimwear over the nappy for extra leak prevention. The Splash About Happy Nappy is our recommendation.
  7. Please refrain from entering the pool before your lesson time. After lessons, please change in the changing rooms and exit quietly so as not to disturb the next class.
  8. For everyone's safety, please keep your children and family members supervised at all times. Children must stay with their guardians, especially when siblings are in swimming lessons. Please also keep them from running around outside, as cars will be moving in and out and the surrounding area is private property.
  9. We take no responsibility for anyone outside of the swimming pool during their allocated lesson. It is the guardian's responsibility to make sure that the children (and families) they are responsible for obey the pool rules at all times and do not cause danger to themselves or others outside of their lesson time.

Parking

To ensure we have enough space, only one car per family, please. When you arrive, you'll see three parking spots in front of the house, just to the right of the black gate.

Please don't parallel park, as it'll block the space for another car. If there's no space, wait for a car to leave before parking. The road might seem quiet, but it is a farm road and farm vehicles need enough space to pass.

Parking area - no parking in front or beyond the white door. If you walk towards the hedges, by the green fence, you will reach the entrance to the pool.

Should you have a private pool or access to a private pool and wish for me to travel to your location for private lessons, please contact me to arrange a suitable schedule. For ongoing weekly lessons, these would need to be scheduled during weekday afternoons or early evenings.
